FOR NORMAL BROS
If you are new to consoles and are a pc gamer, buy a ps4 because it will give you better graphics and performance. But if you are new to consoles and want to do more than just gaming, buy a xbox as it will enable you to do more than just gaming. So at end it all depends on you. It's not like any one of them is BETTER. Both are gaming consoles and are fun.
FOR TECH SAVVY GEEKS

Controller-
The dualshock 4 is a major and a big improvement from the old ps3 controller. The buttons are nice and triggers feel good. A major new feature that has been added to the ds4 is the touch pad. Some may say "what kind of shit is that?" while some may say "sweet mother of jesus christ". Another new feature is the speaker in ds4 which will increase the fun of the game.
On the other hand, the xbox one controller had the best controller as it's predecessor. But still new features have been added like rumble triggers and uhhhh... and.... hmm..
I think that's it. No major new feature has been added. It's not a big deal also because the xbox 360 controller had nothing bad except the plus buttons which have been improved.
CPU-
Ps4 has better system PERIOD.
SO AT LAST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IF YOU ARE A RICH B*TCH BUY BOTH BUT IF YOU ARE LIKE ME BUY A PS4 IF YOU WANT MORE IMMERSIVE GAMING EXPERIENCE AND BUY A XBOX ONE IF YOU WANT MORE JUST THANKS GAMING.
